I started doing CrossFit in August of '04, thanks to some needling by Brand X Students (Jason and Ricky) and Jeff Martin. I've never looked back. If look at me and say, well, of course YOU can do it, you are a maniac, then that is the beauty of CrossFit at work. Thanks, Patrick. What was really frustrating is that I know I can do sets of 10 for a couple of rounds, but I think the Thrusters killed my arms. Something about opposing movements being lethal, like doing pull ups and thrusters. Or that damned monkey bar workout. That was AWFUL.
I had the same problem with the push-ups. I started with 5s, dropped to 4s and then determined I wasn't going below that even if I blew my shoulders out to do it.
I guess the front delt/upper pec. involvement in the thrusters does it? Triceps felt OK, but then you use a more tricep focussed push-up than me.

65# thrusters ain't chump change, either. Don't fret the pushups. They'll come.
