Tuesday - 65 Pounds of Death - 35:33

Bah - this was HEAVY for everything but the Deadlifts. So everything broken except the deadlifts and the last set of front squats.

21-18-15-12- and 9 rep rounds of:
65 pound Deadlift
65 pound Hang clean (degenerated to power cleans)
65 pound Front squat
65 pound Push jerk

35:33

At first, not really very happy with that time. *Then while I was perusing the Comments on the WOD I noticed most people took at least 35 unless they scaled the reps or weight or both.

Jeff said it was a good time, so I will be happy with it.

And there were a few over 40 minutes in there.
So I'm picking my time to be... about a week. I know, you're saying, how can this man aim so high, but I figure you've got to set these goals for yourself.
A week. There it is. In print.

And recycled fish tacos too, ewww!

If I scaled to pack weight 45# I could have done it in under 30.

Scale this puppy! You can doooo eeeet!

That is my favorite "Waterboy" line and the second one is "ohhhh noooo! We suck, again!" I use the second one at local sporting events. Our local teams tend to let us down just when we are getting our hopes up. ;)

Checking carefully, did I compliment her? No, don't think so.... OK, should be safe.

If this is my last post before I go to my death by WOD, I want the world to know, Laura dunnit

I'm playing Bodhran at the Session in the pub, regular Wednesday booking, so I can't tonight, but will try to fit it in tomorrow. I'll see how I go with 65lbs, but strip the bar if I have to. All of the movements there are those I don't have to work around injuries, so I should be OK to gut it out. So long as I can keep it moving I'll stick with it.

have you been following the pack scaling or the puppy scaling? Definitely drop weight or scale back the reps.

Have fun at the pub. Got any you tube of your music?

I promise not to punish you for compliments again. Actually it only SEEMS like punishment. Without punishment like this, I would still be doing the puppy workouts.

"We are not punishing you. We are making you BETTER!"

I got a million Brand X quotes to throw at you, Metric. They're ALL true!

Wait assuming Bodhran is a kind of music and not some crazy NZ pub game that you only play when you are drunk.

geez I am so sheltered.

Initial reply was very long, so I've transferred most of it to an email.
I'm following the puppy scaling most of the time, unless it's something I've never tried before and there's a buttercup offering, or I have done it before and I know I can go up a level. Sorry, or I don't have the equipment to scale to a specific level. Then I improvise on a whole little level of my own. I'll go with puppy this time if you think it's wiser.

There are many who would say that bodhran playing is definitely a crazy pub game that you only play when you're drunk. I tell them it only sounds that way.

Puppies:
15-12- 9 - 6 and 3 rep rounds of:
34-45 pound Deadlift
35-45pound Hang clean
35-45 pound Front squat
35-45 pound Push jerk

that should about kill you. ;)

You ~could~ try the 18-15-12-9-6 with puppy weight but if you do puppies and it takes you less than half an hour that should be a pretty good workout!
