Thursday - 10 rounds/15 DL 95#/15 push ups 24:48

I scaled the DL/Push Up to

10 rounds
15x 95# Deadlift
15x Push Ups

Round 1-3 standard pushups
Round 4-7 Half the push ups on a tractor tire
round 8-10 All push ups on the tire.

24:48

Here is a comparable workout from last year:

37:03 for 10 rds:
75# Deadlift (hamstrings to calves) x 10
Push-ups x 15

No mods on the pushups.

That's a chunk of time to cut off.
The workout looked interesting as a demo. I couldn't cope with the volume right now, so I still have to catch you there, sigh, but at least the weight I'm pulling is about even.

Please note, this is a question, not a criticism.
The last time through something similar you didn't have to sub your push-ups. Did the increased intensity this time 'round (greater, volume, more weight, shorter time) impact on that?

hehe. I can take criticism if you call it a "suggestion" lol.

Basically you are correct - the reason I took the assist for the push ups this time was to keep up the metcon, not so much CAUSEd by the MetCon but determined in advance that the hit to my MetCon would be too great to try to do them all unassisted. You may have seen Jeff suggestion to do a mixture.

What happns is I get to muscular failure pretty quickly which translates into ridiculous amounts rest needed for the arms.

That and the Trevor workout on Monday probably took its toll. ;)

I still struggle with that. I get too focussed on achieving the target number of reps and forget to sub. Sorting out your subs ahead of time is just too organised for words.

Must be one of those Columbus, Magellan, Indians, things.

I'll give credit to Jeff for giving me the scaling. I just follows orders. ;)
